Vehicles older than 10 years cannot be imported to Zimbabwe.
Commercial vehicles, including haulage trucks, tractors, and equipment used in construction and mining, are exempted from this age restriction. For the importation of vehicles older than 10 years, an import license from the commerce ministry and industry is required. Commercial vehicles, including specialized vehicles used in mining and agriculture, do not require an import license.
Importation of right-hand drive vehicles is allowed in Zimbabwe. An exception is provided in the case of fire engines and ambulances.
EAA inspection is mandatory for the vehicles imported into Zimbabwe from 1 June 2022.

However, they are required to pay VAT based on the value of the vehicle plus insurance and freight and any other charges incurred during delivery to Zimbabwe. Zimbabwean residents residing outside Zimbabwe for more than 24 months. Individuals who are not residents of Zimbabwe can bring foreign-registered vehicles into the country.
